Executive Manager- Terry Melhuish

Terry is an accomplished commercial and industrial manager with over 15 years experience. Terry’s experience brings a refreshing practical aspect to his role as Ultum’s Executive Manager. He is well-placed to understand the client’s perspective and offer innovative solutions. Terry’s extensive business services industry knowledge comes from occupying Senior Management positions for National and International organisations. The market segments of these organisations include Construction, Retail, Insurance Supply and Facilities Management. His qualifications include Diploma of Business, Sales and Marketing Cert III and Agents Representative Certificate for Real Estate.


Group Commercial Manager- Richard Thompson

Richard is a fully qualified Civil Engineer with nearly 40 years experience in the maintenance and construction industry. Having worked extensively in a commercial role in Facilities Management for over 15 years, Richard has worked with clients including ExxonMobil, Telstra, Department of Defence and various local government authorities. Richard also worked for Melbourne Water for 18 years and worked in an asset management role as well as working on several major projects including Thomson Reservoir and Maroondah Reservoir upgrade.

Sam Furphy

Sam’s career spans nearly 20 years of innovation in the property industry, beginning in September 1995 when he founded Urban Maintenance System’s (UMS). UMS is now one of Australia’s Leading Facilities & Infrastructure Maintenance organisations providing a diverse range of services to Government and private sector organisations across the country. UMS employs over 350 staff working from 17 locations; Sam is currently CEO of the UMS group.

Sam is also a director of the Shepparton based Furphy’s Foundry. Furphy’s is highly regarded for manufacturing and supplying a robust range of street and park furniture to Local Government and Landscape architects throughout Australia.


Executive Director Business Development
Campbell Walker

Campbell is responsible for Ultum’s business development and customer relationship management. He has a broad understanding of the construction industry after stints with the Podgor Group and Grollo (now Grocon) and brings a background of sales and marketing skills honed in the beer industry for Fosters and Lion Nathan.

Campbell is actively involved with community based activities such as his role as Chair of the Melbourne Day Committee (Melbourne’s birthday celebrations) and a Board member of the St.Vincent’s Hospital Microsurgery Foundation and Chair of its Centre for Pain Management. He remains a partner in Ultum’s parent company Urban Maintenance Systems Pty Ltd after 13 years.


David Probert

David is a Chartered Accountant with senior finance and general management experience across several industries, both in Australia and overseas. His experience includes working for KPMG and Pitcher Partners as well as senior finance management experience in US head quartered firms including Cardinal Health, International Paper and Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG), which included the role of Finance Director for the Asia Pacific region based in Singapore. In addition David has held CFO roles for Australian based organisations HRL Group, Bendigo Health Care Group and most recently, UMS Group.

David holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from RMIT, is a member of the valuations and corporate finance special groups of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and also the Australian Institute of Company Directors (MAICD).
